We are looking for a Chief Business Officer to participate investor engagement, partnerships, and overall business growth for an AI-focused startup. This role is responsible for translating product capabilities into measurable outcomes, including funding, customer acquisition, and monetization.
What You Will Do
As our Chief Business Officer, you will:
- Engage with potential investors and manage early-stage fundraising efforts
- Support the CEO in pitching the product to investors, partners, and stakeholders
- Conduct market research to validate opportunities, competitors, and positioning
- Identify and develop early business opportunities, partnerships, and pilot clients
- Define initial go-to-market direction based on market feedback and demand
- Shape pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies at an early stage
- Build and manage early pipelines for partnerships, clients, and collaborations
- Work with product and engineering teams to align development with market needs
- Structure and negotiate early-stage deals, partnerships, and agreements
- Establish foundational processes for business operations, sales, and growth
- Track key business signals including investor interest, pipeline activity, and early traction
- Represent the company in investor discussions, partnerships, and external engagements
What We Are Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you have hands-on experience with:
- Directly contributing to successful fundraising rounds (pre-seed, seed, or Series A)
- Engaging with venture capital firms, angel investors, and institutional investors
- Supporting or leading investor pitches with clear outcomes (meetings, follow-ups, or secured commitments)
- Building business pipelines, partnerships, or revenue channels from zero to initial traction
- Conducting deep market research and translating insights into actionable business strategy
- Defining and executing early-stage go-to-market strategies for tech or AI products
- Selling or positioning technical products, including AI, APIs, or SaaS solutions
- Structuring and negotiating high-value deals, partnerships, or commercial agreements
- Working directly with founders or C-level leaders in high-growth or early-stage environments
- Operating in ambiguous environments with minimal structure and high ownership
Additional qualifications:
- Strong understanding of startup fundraising dynamics, investor expectations, and valuation basics
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical products to non-technical investors and partners
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools, platforms, and current industry landscape
- Experience handling end-to-end investor conversations, from outreach to closing
- Proven ability to prioritize high-impact opportunities over low-value activities
- High level of accountability with a focus on measurable outcomes, not activity
- Comfortable being evaluated based on traction, investor engagement, and business results
- Strong decision-making skills in fast-moving and uncertain environments
