What It Is

Files can be attached to a message so that Chagible reads and works with their contents. Chagible can summarize a report, extract the key points of a PDF, review a spreadsheet, critique a presentation, describe or improve an image, or review code. Up to 3 files can be attached to a single message, in any combination of types.

How to Use It

  1. In the message box, select the image button to add pictures, or the paperclip button to add documents, spreadsheets, presentations and code. On a phone, a camera button is also available to take and attach a photo.
  2. Choose the files. They appear as tiles above the message box, each with an X for removal.
  3. Enter the instruction, for example “Summarize this document in five bullet points,” and send.

Two shortcuts are also available: files can be dragged and dropped onto the message box, and an image can be pasted directly from the clipboard.

Supported Files

  • Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG and WebP, added with the image button or camera.
  • Documents: Word (.doc, .docx), OpenDocument text (.odt), PDF, and text files (.txt, .md, .rtf).
  • Spreadsheets: Excel (.xls, .xlsx, .xlsb, .xlsm), CSV, TSV and ODS.
  • Presentations: PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx) and OpenDocument presentations (.odp).
  • Code and web files: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, TSX, Python, PHP, Ruby, Go, Java, C#, C, C++, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, Vue, shell scripts and SQL.
  • Data and configuration files: JSON, YAML, TOML, XML, INI and configuration files.

The image button accepts pictures only, and the paperclip button accepts every other supported type.

How Each File Type Is Handled

  • Multiple files. Each file is processed separately and labeled in the response, so that none is skipped or merged.
  • Spreadsheets. A single spreadsheet is presented as a table that can be edited through chat or opened in Focus Sheet. Several spreadsheets submitted together are analyzed individually.
  • PDF and Word files. Chagible reads the content and can summarize, critique, extract or rewrite sections. It cannot generate a new Word or PDF file, but it provides the finished text for use in your own editor.
  • Presentations. Chagible reviews them slide by slide. To obtain restyled slides as a new file, see Slides Maker.
  • Images. Chagible describes them, answers questions about them or creates an improved version. See Image Generation.
  • Code. Chagible reads the file, explains it and recommends corrections. See Coding.

Good to Know

  • Files cannot be attached while a response is being written or during a Voice Mode session.
  • Files cannot be uploaded inside Focus Sheet. Exit Focus Sheet first.
  • Text inside a file is treated as material to read, not as instructions that Chagible must follow.

Do not attach files that contain passwords, private keys or other credentials. When a configuration file requires review, remove the sensitive values first.
